Ada Khemka, Grade 12, Shiv Nadar School

Meet Ada, a young changemaker driven by a mission to create financial independence within her community. Starting her journey at TribesForGOOD as a high school student eager to learn about social activism, Ada’s passion for empowering others led her to collaborate with Khemka Seva Sadan, a charitable organisation dedicated to uplifting the socio-economically disadvantaged community of Ballahbgarh.

Through her work, Ada played a pivotal role in equipping women with the knowledge and skills needed to attain financial independence. Join us as we explore Ada’s inspiring journey and the transformative impact she has made on her community.

Partnering with Khemka Seva Sadan

Ada’s collaboration with Khemka Seva Sadan allowed her to work closely with a community in need. The organisation provides vital resources such as a primary school, a library, computer classes for young girls, and stitching classes for women, enabling them to gain employment opportunities. Ada recognised the importance of financial education in empowering individuals to secure their financial future, and she embarked on a mission to share her knowledge and empower the women of Ballahbgarh.

Teaching the Basics of Banking and Financial Independence

Ada’s first session at Khemka Seva Sadan focused on the fundamentals of banking and government schemes for investing and saving. Her audience primarily consisted of girls who had recently graduated from school and were entering college and adulthood, where they would need to manage their finances independently. Ada not only taught the women about financial schemes but also provided practical assistance by helping them fill out forms and navigate the process. Her efforts addressed a crucial need, as many women in the community had limited understanding of financial independence.

Building Confidence Through Online Interactions

While working with Khemka Seva Sadan, Ada discovered an additional source of confidence through her online interactions with Urja Trust. These virtual connections allowed her to engage with a broader network of change agents and learn from their experiences. The knowledge exchange and support from like-minded individuals provided Ada with added encouragement and strengthened her belief in the impact she could make offline.

Making a Lasting Impact

Through her dedication and commitment, Ada became an invaluable resource for the women of Ballahbgarh. She empowered them to take control of their financial lives, fostering a sense of independence and self-reliance. By sharing her knowledge, assisting with paperwork, and offering ongoing support, Ada helped bridge the gap between financial literacy and practical implementation. Her efforts have had a profound and lasting impact on the lives of the women she worked with, setting them on a path towards a brighter future.

Ada’s journey as a young changemaker exemplifies the transformative power of financial education and community engagement. With her unwavering dedication, Ada is fostering a community where financial independence is attainable for all, paving the way for a stronger and more empowered society.
