ACT-ivism with high-school social warriors!
We believe that the weeks of in-class and physical learning that students have missed out on, and are missing out on – can be replaced by our robust, virtual and relevant – Summer Program!
The program provides students with a basic introduction to innovation and social entrepreneurship through expert-led workshops, learn-by-doing modules, and social impact projects, which will set them on a path of becoming a changemaker. Throughout the program, the students will be guided by an experienced professional or a mentor, who will help them break down their project into sizable parts.
What will you experience?
We believe in “Experiential learning”- learning by doing and not handing over a baggage of theoretical knowledge. Every TribesforGOOD student goes through a 4 week program with a focus on multiple aspects of social work.
- Lay the base: Setting a context and base to bring all the students to the same page
- Meet the NGO: Interact with social leaders and learn from their journeys
- Virtual Fieldwork: Meet the beneficiaries, understand their stories and take necessary steps!
- Network: Start broadening your network by socializing with leaders, professionals and fellow students
- The Crux: Learn how to extract the crux out of any project and present it efficiently through a pitch presentation

How will it help me in the future?
There are multiple benefits of being involved in social projects. We identify it as a key part of holistic education. It helps in building an active citizen who is aware of the social issues, its multi dimensionality and has a sensitive approach/ outlook towards problem solving.
Apart from that, you will get to make your resume unique by adding your social impact journey that is close to your heart. We hope that helps you reach your dream university!

Our Alumni Projects
The Problem: Nearly one in every three women in the world — or 1.1 billion — is excluded from the formal financial system.
Globally, women are 7% less likely than men to have a basic transaction account, and this disparity rises among the poor.
With COVID-19 online payments seem to be the means to transact because of the need to limit human contact. While educated people found it fairly simple and have been able to adapt, certain segments of society were completely dependent on others.
Project Scope: Work on training low-income women to be in control of their finances and perform simple tasks like paying electricity, DTH, gas bills, mobile recharges and much more on their own.
The Impact:
- 30+ hours of on-call training
- Women become comfortable with technology post training
- Women paid electricity, DTH, gas bills and for mobile recharges
- Reduced occurrence of Online Frauds
The Problem: Girls in rural areas use unhygienic clothes, ash or hay during their periods and face immense emotional and societal pressure.
Almost 23% stop going to school during their period in India, many have to stay in segregated areas of their house or sometimes even the village and many are banned from participating in normal activities.
Solution: Breaking the culture of shame and silence around menstruation for the last women in rural and slum India and addressing their menstrual hygiene challenges with a Triple A approach: Access, Awareness and Affordability.
Impact: The campaign will help sponsor ‘My Pad Kits‘ to around 400 rural girls in need of Menstrual Hygiene Kits during COVID-19. The pack consists of 8 reusable cloth MY Pads + 1 undergarment, all packed into an outer cloth cover bag. As the pad is often re-used multiple times per usage cost is very minimal.
Topic- Technology for GOOD
Project- Drishti- A website to convert Indic language books into Braille. With Drishti, we aim to empower the visually impaired population with the gift of knowledge.
Website: https://www.drishti.foundation/
The Problem: India is home to one third of the blind people in the world. Yet, the conventional Braille system favours only the English speaking population.
Over two thirds of the Indian population resides in rural areas. India being a developing country, the literacy rate and access to technology is extremely disproportionate.
The Impact: Drishti has been reaching out to multiple non-profits across the country that focus on the development of the visually impaired to provide them with the software to convert Indic language books into Braille for absolutely zero-cost.
The vision is to convert these braille books into audio books for a better experience for the visually impaired.
Topic- STEM Literacy & E-learning
Project- Creating STEM modules and delivering it to underprivileged kids via video calls with an aim to stir an interest in the STEM fields.
“I’ve always been a Math, and Science person. I realized that I had the privilege of being able to heavily study these subjects, with the right resources and environment.
But there were a lot of others, who didn’t have the same advantage. It’s not like people from the low socio-economic sector wouldn’t want to have access to getting the jobs that we might have the option of applying to – it’s just that they don’t have the means to do the same.
Over time, after going through trial and error with TribesforGOOD, we finally curated this compact bridge course – which was full-proof and ready for launch!”

Young Advocates for Social Change
The Young Advocates program is a short, one-week virtual summer program for students from grades 5-8, which helps cultivate empathy, problem solving and listening skills. Today’s parents are on a constant quest to broaden the horizons for the kids to grow and learn. So why not social impact? Raising children to be kind, empathetic, and contributing members of society needs to start at a very young age. The earlier you get them involved in activities that will positively impact society, the more kindness and empathy are ingrained into their makeup. Community services can teach kids a sense of civic responsibility, tolerance, empathy, and self-efficacy, and make a difference to the child’s perspective towards life.
